About the conference

Scope

The OPT-iv special interest conference series is dedicated to Engineering and Applied Sciences Optimization. OPT-iv2026 serves as a platform for cross-disciplinary dialogue and knowledge exchange across a broad spectrum of scientific and engineering domains.

While maintaining a core focus on mathematical programming and nature-inspired search algorithms, the conference explicitly seeks to bridge theoretical foundations with practical applications in both established and emerging areas.

Sessions related to specific topics will be introduced by keynote lectures and invited minisymposia, organised by recognised experts in areas of current interest, as well as by contributed papers.

ICDTDE2026 Conference Cluster

OPT-iv2026 is one of the three interlocking ICDTDE2026 events, designed to foster cross-pollination of methods, standards, digital workflows and real-world impact across optimization, manufacturing, safety and resilience.

Other ICDTDE2026 conferences:

  • ADDOPT2026 (3rd International Conference on ADDitively Manufactured OPTimized Structures)
  • HAZARDS2026 (International Conference Series on Hazard Assessment, Zonation, Awareness, Response & Safety)

Scientific & Societal Vision

OPT-iv2026 advances a holistic, optimization-driven and machine learning–assisted framework for engineering, applied sciences and the built environment.

Scientific Objectives

  • Facilitate exchange between mathematical programming, nature-inspired search algorithms and engineering practitioners.
  • Promote advanced computational methods and software tools for large-scale, high-dimensional and combinatorial optimization problems.
  • Highlight applications in structural, aerospace, mechanical, civil, chemical, naval and bio-engineering, as well as economics, operations research, physics, biology, computational biology and systems engineering.

Applied Impact

  • Support data-informed decision-making across engineering design, analysis, manufacturing and lifecycle management.
  • Link optimization-enhanced components and systems to real-world applications, including resilient infrastructure, transitional healthcare units and post-disaster recovery shelters.
